The Water Pentamer, (H₂O)₅

 

Above is a local minimum energy structure for the cis-(H₂O)₅ cyclic structure.  Below is the (mainly-trans cyclic) global minimum energy structure for a water pentamer [115]. Both of these structures are chiral, existing fleetingly as enantiomers.

 

 

• Menu:Click (right) mouse button (Mac: hold down) for options; for example,  molecular rendering, stop spinning, retrieve coordinates (File Save Molecule As).
• Rotate: Drag (left) mouse button.
• Zoom: Drag (left ) mouse button + Shift.
• Pan: Drag (right) mouse button + Ctrl (Mac: + Command).
